Better Buzz coffee is one of the most popular coffee chains in SoCal, and specifically well known in the San Diego area. They have 12 locations, and I visited the one on University Ave. in Hillcrest. The location in Hillcrest was one of the bigger locations, in comparison to the others. It had two stories, a designated spot for coffee roasting, and even a meeting room that is available to reserve. There is a large selection of seating, however it is quite loud, and not my ideal place to work or study.
I ordered the “best drink ever” and my boyfriend ordered the vanilla bean latte. Better Buzz is famous for their vanilla powder, and it was included in the drink I ordered. The espresso itself was quite delicious and the vanilla powder added a good creaminess to the drink. However, it definitely is not for the average coffee drinker, as it was more on the sweeter side. The vanilla bean latte has a better balance between the taste of the flavor and the vanilla flavor. Also, it had real vanilla bean specks in it! The espresso was a little bland for my liking, but it was still delicious. Better Buzz is definitely a must-try when in San Diego!
